From Maine to Mechanic
Hi, my name is Frankie! Three years ago i took the plunge and sped off on my first motorcycle bought off craigslist on a whim and it was love at first sight. She was a lil 250cc Yamaha Virago quickly nicknamed 'The Bride'. After prematurely tearing into her aftermarket carb i decided to try my hand at motorcycle maintenance by approaching a local shop which quickly turned into an apprenticeship. For the last two years Phoenix Cycle Shop has been home to my many fuck-ups, beers had and carburetors cleaned and I've decided I need to take the next step in my relationship with mechanics and go to school. I am attempting to attend the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute in Phoenix Arizona in March of 2017. I have applied for every scholarship, grant and loan, but I am still coming up short...about $11,000 short. This is where YOU come in! I need YOUR help raising money for this career I've dug my hands into, but I'm not a 'gofundme' kind of women, so I made this website. Take a look through the shop and Donate if you can! I Have shirts available for purchase, designed by my good friend Mike Vance. Ill write you a note, give you a high five or hook you up with a hand painted sign (wording of your choice) hand lettered by my husband Erik. Thank you for taking the time to read this and donate! You are helping me continue my journey with motorcycles, helping me to become a better mechanic and start my own shop where anyone regardless of age, gender or ethnicity can come and learn the skills they need to build and maintain motorcycles in a safe environment!
